Help more students discover their passion for STEM!

I am a member of the MN Junior Academy of Science, a small group of students who have been recognized for our achievements at Minnesota State Science & Engineering Fair after spending years exploring, researching, and competing in science fair events.

Participating in the State Science Fair has opened doors to incredible opportunities. I’ve been mentored by dedicated educators and scientists, introduced to diverse STEM research fields, and connected with peers who share the same enthusiasm for discovery. Along the way, I’ve forged lasting friendships.

My journey with the MN Junior Academy of Science began with a simple curiosity. I wanted to understand the water quality of Minnesota's lakes. Growing up surrounded by water, I often wondered about the impact of pollution on these precious ecosystems. Presenting my research at the Minnesota State Science and Engineering Fair was insightful. I received valuable feedback and encouragement from teachers and peers, which fueled my passion for environmental pollution research. This experience inspired me to develop new solutions to protect our environment. With the help and support of the MN Junior Academy of Science, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase my work at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). This personal journey not only increased my passion for environmental science but also inspired me to pursue a career in STEM.

Experiences like that have broadened my understanding of what’s possible in the world of science and technology. Now, I want to ensure that future generations of students will have the same chance to discover their passion for STEM through hands-on learning and competition.

Last year, the MN STEM community rallied to save the State Science Fair when a major corporate sponsor withdrew its support. I am reaching out now to build on that generosity and help create a sustainable base of support moving forward.
